The very first time I met Jonathan, we had an immediate “meeting of the minds” about a number of things that are now part of the KEYSER principles. In fact, that meeting convinced me of the importance of doing business with like-minded people and was the primary reason I decided to join that firm. As our relationship deepened, I realized that Jonathan and I had even more in common than I originally thought, and it was very refreshing for us to partner through service in the highly competitive arena of commercial real estate. Birthing Keyser at the time was totally unforeseen, but now looking back, it was a natural evolution out of our full commitment to service and to helping others. I, like Jonathan, gave up the “security” of a successful career with a growing and prosperous firm in order to help create and lead an organization with a vision and impact that will ultimately reach beyond commercial real estate. My personal commitment to service stems from my unwavering personal commitment to self-improvement. Jesus once said, “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” I have found that the best way to “lose” my life is to fully engage in service that guides my actions toward helping others. This has resulted in the joyful habit of regularly giving my time, energy, and resources to many worthy causes throughout the community.
